S.E.D.’s Drugs of Abuse testing services include:
S.E.D.'s policy is to scientifically confirm all positive/non-negative screens. This includes on-site rapid test kit screens performed by S.E.D. staff. We use the most widely accepted and proven method of confirmation, Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS). The benefit to you is that results stand up in court if they are ever challenged.
A positive test is one in which a drug is detected at a level greater than the predetermined level. A non-negative test is one in which an adulterant or other substances may have been detected that could alter the true content of the specimen.
People abusing drugs (legal or illegal drugs) will try to alter their specimen during collection to yield a negative result. This is not difficult since adulterants are commercially available, including clean urine specimens. To prevent our customers from receiving "false" negative results, S.E.D. tests ALL specimens for adulteration, including job-site tests done by S.E.D. staff. (Adulteration test strips are available to customers who perform their own job-site testing.) The following adulteration checks are performed:
S.E.D. operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This allows us to test all specimens upon arrival at the laboratory. In many instances, we can provide results the same day the specimen is collected (positive/non negative results may take longer). For our customers that use our job-site test kits, most results are available in just a few minutes. Results can be provided to your designated representative or Medical Review Officer via FAX, printer or direct computer download.
Web based results are also available through our CareEvolve program. This is an easy way for designated staff to retrieve results off a secure Internet site. Results are usually ready more quickly then those faxed or printed. This also allows the user to trend their data.
At S.E.D., immunoassay is the standard for initial screening for Drugs of Abuse testing. In addition to individual drug classes below, we can create custom panels for you in any combination of the following:
In addition to in-laboratory testing for these drug classes, we can provide job-site testing kits for immediate results. (Positive/non negative screens must be sent to the laboratory for confirmation.)
We serve clients throughout the United States. We have an established nationwide transportation network, nationwide specimen collection network, and a nationwide Medical Review Officer network. We can serve you no matter where you are located.
